We went to downtown Winter Park today just to check it out. We walked around the lake at Rollins College looking for wildlife. We saw a weird looking bird, I guess, it was like an underwater bird. It came up for a few seconds and then went back down for a few minutes. It was bizzare. The whole body never came up...it just kept sticking its head up. We saw some other weird birds but the best was the alligator we saw attack a bird and eat it. We saw an alligator in the wild attack a bird and eat it! It was Awesome! The gator was BIG. The best part was there are these people tubing and skiing and swimming right in the lake with the gator. It's like, duh people, you live in Florida...there are gators in the lakes. I guess it is normal for them as long as the gators aren't too big. I guess the small ones don't attack people. I don't know this for a fact, I'm just guessing by what some of the locals were saying. I won't be swimming in any of the lakes...that's for sure. I'm not taking any chances. Of course we forgot the camera this trip so we didn't get any discovery channel stuff with the gator and all. Oh well...we have mental pictures.
